Movie Theatre Magic
I am so proud of my boys. We finally made it through an entire movie at the theatre with both Thomas, 5, and Francis, 2 ½. I have never been able to make it through an entire movie with both of them. One time Francis puked, had to leave. Another time Thomas was literally bored and asked to leave early at this point I was tired of the n numerous potty trips that I did not argue and left. The last time we tried it Francis would not sit and was crawling around the disgusting movie floors, so we left early with one child screaming because he did not want to go home early. Today though we went to our theatre’s last free summer movie event. I figured since it was free we would give it a shot and I went armed with an umbrella stroller incase Frankie would not stay sitting and the two magic pieces that made the movie experience glorious. My son’s Winnie the Pooh blankie, and a box of Raisinets. We had our popcorn and drinks but they always want the candy so I had a “special” box of candy in my purse. I’m not paying $4.75 for a box of candy I can get elsewhere for 1$ especially if it gets dumped on the floor or abandoned in a mad dash to leave the theatre fast with a screaming, puking, poopy or naughty behaving child. My two year old was so good with hi blankie wrapped around him that he did not even need to go in the stroller, he sat in his own seat without running around, and both the boys loved the raise nets. I liked them too because they were chocolate and had raisins in so if we ate the whole box I did not feel as guilty because we were eating raisins too which can be a healthy snack, so they were covered in chocolate- big deal we were at the theatre where there were worse choices to snack on. And who doesn’t want something sweet to go with their theatre popcorn. I am still trying to figure out how I let myself spend $14.50 at a movie that was supposed to be free on drinks and popcorn. Next Time I think we need to smuggle in some homemade trail mix and get one bag of popcorn instead of two.
